A response to Adele's commentReader comment on item: Brent Scowcroft is Wrong: We Must Attack Saddam Submitted by Ken Platt (United States), Aug 21, 2002 at 15:27 Daniel Pipes is absolutely correct. Saddam must go, along with his entire infrastructure. Eliminating Saddam will "spare the Iraqi people" more grief than you can possibly imagine, and much more than if he is left if power! What makes you think that if we invade Iraq "the Arabs will not stand for it" and because they are already "fumed" about Palestine it will give them more reason to hate us? The Arabs will hate us no matter what we do, unless we bulldoze all of Israel, blowup all Christian churches and convert to Islam. I, for one, do not see that as a serious alternative. The best way to deal with Saddam and the rest of the Middle Eastern dictatorships is to show them that we will no longer put up with their duplicity, treachery and terrorism. Arabs do understand one thing clearly and that is FORCE. If we use it effectively against Saddam there will be much less need to use it again.
