Actually, Not Even Close to Good; A Different Plan on the Way

The use of the term 'greater Syria' actually invokes the Syrian idealistic of the al-Assad regime in which the areas mentioned are ghost zones of a Syrian empire in the mind of al-Assad. However, as can be seen, this regime cannot hold onto what it does have and trying to have it absorbed into the Hashemite kingdom, though a salivating moment for Abdullah, has even less chance than a snowball on a hot Jordan summer day.

But there is another aspect to the Middle East situation that seems everyone keeps trying to avoid, some more violently than others; just what was promised to Abraham when the LORD swept the land before Abraham's eyes? In Genesis 15:13) On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: "To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates-- ; then reading in Joshua 1:4) "From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory.

So it would seem that from a prophetic standpoint, everyone has been talking about the future land of Israel; so how does anyone think the Eternal Sovereign of Israel will settle this issue?

There's a clue from the prophets; Isaiah 11:14) But they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines toward the west; Together they shall plunder the people of the East; They shall lay their hand on Edom and Moab; And the people of Ammon shall obey them: and Zephaniah 2:8,9) "I have heard the reproach of Moab, And the insults of the people of Ammon, With which they have reproached My people, And made arrogant threats against their borders. Therefore, as I live," Says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, "Surely Moab shall be like Sodom, And the people of Ammon like Gomorrah--Overrun with weeds and saltpits, And a perpetual desolation. The residue of My people shall plunder them, And the remnant of My people shall possess them.".
