Why Was Enoch Powell Condemned as a Racist and Not Charles deGaulleReader comment on item: Why Was Enoch Powell Condemned as a Racist and Not Charles de Gaulle? Submitted by Judith (United States), Aug 20, 2013 at 20:19 I think it was the way Enoch Powell phrased things that got him into so much trouble. Charles was always a bit more subtle and tongue-in-cheek, a rather more French-styled politician. That said, they both saw cultural differences that were a threat to French culture which they jealously guard, including the love of good food, good wine, and love, love, love...so why do couples go to Paris? To see the Louvre, the Eifle Tower, Mt. Marte, and to sample French cuisine. This French culture is an insult to Islam, and rather than prize a beautiful woman, the Islamists would rather circumsize her, and commute other horrible acts of violence for Alla Akbar. Islamic supremacism takes no prisoners. If people wish to immigrate to another country they should accept its culture who ever they are, and I believe Enoc Powell saw the potential future and sadly, he was right. Some Muslims (the ones the world refers to as Islamists and Terrioists) cause more blood in the streets than any other group of people in the world. I don't think his fear was color of skin, but color of ideology. Discrimination is wrong, of course, not respecting your new chose country is wrong too!
