The United States of America is a Republic NOT a democracy, more specifically, a constitutional federal republicReader comment on item: Obama's Foreign Fiasco Submitted by NuritG (United States), Aug 22, 2013 at 01:29 Obama's foreign policy in the Middle-East is back firing already and it has just begun. This policy is hurting already and will hurt the USA even more later on. And Obama is not leading at all, not from behind, not from the front; he is a vapid or inciting speechmaking president, a golf player and ice cream eater while the USA is falling apart in its seams. Obama's Islamophilia, which is the love, admiration of Islam and Moslem civilization, contribute to the mess in Egypt. When Obama ends his 2nd term the USA will be in an irreversible mess. Obama simply does not get the magnitude of the Moslem Brotherhood's evil and ill intent. The West simply cannot fathom and catch fast enough the campaign of hate and terror the Moslems perpetrated and will perpetrate against it. Actually, Hitler and Hamas as well as Hugo Chavez, according to those who today oppose the Egyptian military ouster of Morsi, were all DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED --- but elected only for the purpose of wresting power, in order to impose their own brand of tyranny, and even to do away with further popular elections! A Democratic Election does not result in Democracy! Our Founding Fathers knew that; it is rule by a bullying majority that can be, as was Hitler's Germany and Chavez' Venezuela, very tyrannical! Our Founding Fathers knew that. The Egyptian Military, we can say, actually deposed a tyrant who entered through a democratic election but who was already in the process of imposing Islamic tyranny. Now in Egypt they have to restore order out of the chaos the Muslim Brotherhood is creating so that they can eventually restore the country to civilian rule that would permit Liberty in an organized society. It is a misnomer to call what the Egyptian Military did a coup when millions demanded to oust Morsi. It is a mistake to call Morsi and his Muslim brotherhood a Democratic Leadership. Washington must get out of the mistaken idea that democratic elections alone will result in a Democracy. Furthermore, the USA is not a Democracy! It is, or was supposed to be a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC. Hitler in 1933 was a coup; a democratic coup, but a coup. 2007 Hamas's takeover of Gaza was [a] putsch, a coup; a democratic coup, but a coup. Moslem Brotherhood 2012 was a coup; a democratic coup, but a coup. The United States of America is a Republic NOT a democracy, more specifically, a constitutional federal republic. However, this government is operated as a representative democracy by a congress. The important distinction is that the USA is not operated democratically, but rather by representatives who come to power by democratic process. This was an essential and subtle fundamental of the constitution: we are not a true democracy which could amount to mob rule, but a representative democracy in which our leaders act in our interests.
