Anther ViewReader comment on item: Obama's Foreign Fiasco Submitted by Gunther Schiff (United States), Aug 22, 2013 at 15:56 I think, Daniel, that you re being a bit harsh. We were catapulted into Iraq on a totally inexcusable set of imagined threats, and Obama took over when there were still 2 wars going on, and the economy had tanked. Obama was left with a set of heavy problems and a people who were tired of paying in lies and money for interminable and not winnable wars started by others. The moves in N.Africa, at great cost got us little or nothing, and at some point we had to disengage from Iraq and Karzai. Yes, I reluctantly agree when our President draws a red line, now apparently passed by Bassad, we must get further involved. The horror of the use of this weapon has been condemned by most nations. Our president is in a tough situation but I think staying out of the Syrian imbroglio up to now was the right thing to do.
