An All Too Typical Response...Reader comment on item: A Prof [Hamid Dabashi] Tangles the Truth Submitted by Scott Ryan (United States), Apr 1, 2005 at 13:10 …of the Far Left/Islamist alliance is to cry "intimidation" and "smear" when someone has the temerity to question their statements. Criticism automatically qualifies as "hate speech" to these characters. And, it is more than a little ironic that their own activities - that often cross the line as actual "hate speech" - are deemed legitimate expression, as they serve the 'correct' cause. We have arrived at a very low point in the academic realm in this country when all that is to be found in most, if not all, "ethnic studies" department are intellectual charlatans (Ward Churchill), rabid haters (Joseph Massad) and out and out liars (Hamid Dabashi). I must admit that I do enjoy watching them all scurry when the lights of scrutiny are turned on. Scott Ryan.
