Ideology of Truth vs the Cults of LiesReader comment on item: A Prof [Hamid Dabashi] Tangles the Truth Submitted by Don Castella (United States), Apr 1, 2005 at 19:28 I am reminded of a recent, very thought-provoking interview on Israel National Radio, of Hilmar von Campe, who grew up in Nazi Germany, and drew some startling parallels between the Third Reich and the threats to world peace the West faces today. His website http://www.voncampe.com outlines his devotion to what he calls the "Ideology of Truth":He astutely posits that, "All conflicts in the world of whatever nature, ...can be traced back to lies. ...Liars cannot solve problems; they only postpone the day of reckoning. The real battle line is between truth and lies, and not between nations, rich and poor, Christian and Moslem, black and white, or Arab and Jew." His observations, gained from a long life's journey, are as refreshing as they are sobering.
