Reformed Islam - and maybe Moderate Muslims

I'm glad that ME Forum embraces debate within its own walls.

And I understand fully why people are skeptical about the possibilities for Islam to be reformed.

But I side with Daniel Pipes - and Irshad Manji: Reformation *is* possible.

I think that Irshad Manji's point is important: "Moderate" Islam is a meangless term. The focus should be on reform - cf reformed Judaism.

Moderate Muslims makes more sense, but moderate Muslims are extremely vulnerable if there isn't a strong Reform Islam to back them up.

I know that many people think that Irshad Manji is naive. Maybe she is. But if reform doesn't happen, the world is surely headed for even more strife and bloodshed.
