How dumb...Reader comment on item: ISIS and the world's reaction to the Islamic caliphate Submitted by Philior (United States), Sep 23, 2014 at 16:05 If I were assigned to recruit fighters for ISIL, I would show a young Muslim these headlines copy/pasted from a Google search today: US military: Drones destroy Islamic State vehicles WASHINGTON: U.S. hits Islamic State Salisbury News: U.S. warplanes attacked the Islamic State U.S. expands airstrikes against Islamic State US Air Force Jets Attack Islamic State U.S. Expands Airstrikes on Islamic State Targets U.S. Aircraft Strike Islamic State Indeed, just imagine a Muslim teenager reading this. What could inspire him for jihad more than these headlines, authenticity of which cannot be questioned as it was our own media disseminating this pro-Islamist propaganda. Even while lacking Nobel Prizes in science, Muslims succeeded in smart propaganda. And they call the enclave captured from Syria and Iraq the "Islamic State". What a brilliant move, making any enemy of the Islamic State an enemy of Islam! And how stupid it is for us to play into their hands by calling them what they want us to call them. We could come up with any semi-derogatory title we want to make them look not Islamic, not as significant, not as attractive for young Muslims. And we failed. This failure alone will cost thousands of human lives if not our freedom. Possible titles are copious. A few to consider are: TERROPHATE, RAPERS OF ISLAM, ISLAMOBANDITS, SADISLAMISTS…. You get the idea. Why should we advertise for our enemy? For free... how dumb...
