Anti-Apathy MeetingReader comment on item: Think Tanks for Sale or Rent Submitted by Michael S. (United States), Sep 23, 2014 at 19:56 Hi, John I just had to respond to this. It would be a shame, if you called a meeting about the evils of apathy and nobody bothered to show up. Franklin D. Roosevelt once gave a "fireside chat" on the radio that was so inspirational, people were telling him he should do one every week. He responded that if he did so, people would lose interest in them. Altogether, he gave one, on average, about every fife months. Action isn't always the answer; timing is important. I don't get worked up about think tanks selling themselves to the highest bidder, nor about the Arabs controlling our news media, nor any number of things; because doing so would require a great deal of energy and yeild very few results. I focus on doing things I believe are real game-changers: dealing with people's perception of God, and of the world around them. God is in control of the world. Thousands of people, in the coming years, will be running around like chickens with their heads cut off -- trying to put a thermostat on the sun, to blast meteors into orbits they think are best for them; to decrease carbon footprints, to increase carbon footprints; to reform healthcare; to reform the reforms; etc. They will bomb the Caliphate, then Al Nusra, then Hizbullah, then Israel, then... (There is no more "then" after that). Meanwhile, God will watch, and maybe munch on a good, crisp apple. When He needs to, and no sooner, He will act. Shalom shalom :-)
