Where plundering of non-believers is recommended

Dear Dr Pipes,

Your reader Plamen Ivanov asks where in Islamic doctrine violent treatment of non-believers is recommended.

One good place to start will be Quran 9-5. There may be some good interpretations of 9-5 but the literal interpretation is quite unkind to non-believers. Read the entire 9-4 to 9-8 sequence.
