Superpowers and assymetric warfareReader comment on item: Tour d'Horizon: ISIS, Iran, Turkey, and the Palestinians Submitted by Michael S (United States), Jan 9, 2015 at 03:55 Carolyn Glick" "This is a European proxy war with the Jews". Exactly. I think it's interessting, that Daniel, Carolyn, and others who have actually studied the problemsof Israel in depth, come to the same conclusion that the writers of the Bible came up with over 2300 years ago. Ezekiel 38-39 predicts that Turkey will attack Israel in these latter days, allied with Iran, Sudan and Libya. That is Israel's most immediate threat. Daniel 7 predicts that after the world is ruled by a consortium of powers that arose out of the Roman Empire (namely, the great powers of Europe: the British Empire, the French Empire, the Dutch Empire, etc., another power (the US) would uproot three great powers (Germany, Italy and Austria, by one way of reckoning, or Germany, Italy and Japan, which were completely uprooted and run by the Allies during WWII). These "ten horns" would then cleave together, like, lo and behold, the European Union; and they would give their power and authority to the US (as in NATO, or more likely the international order that is in the works now, of which the US will be the natural leader (Yes, the US, which has over five times the GDP of Germany). Carolyn was correct, therefore, in saying that Europe is indeed PRESENTLY the ACTIVE enemy of Israel, through its pumping billions of dollars into the PLO and HAMAS coffers to fight Israel; but is leaving unsaid the fact that in the not-too-distant future, when the US and the EU agree to the TTIP and merge with Europe, the US will take over from Europe as the most dangerous threat. Let me just show some figures: Nuclear Weapons: US 7,700. France 300. UK 225. Other EU none. Aircraft Supercarriers: US 10. France 1. Nuclear Submarines: US 71. UK 11. France 10. GDP/PPP: US $16,800 billion. Germany $3,200 billion. UK $2,400 billion; France $2,300 billion When the US comes into a union with the EU, it shouldn't take tremendous math skills, to see who the leader will be. It's easy, then, to see the power of the US. On its own, the US has about 30% of the power to wage war on the earth. All Europe, save Russia, has about 17%; Japan, Korea and ANZ have 6%. Together, over half the power in the world is controlled by the US and its CLOSE allies. By contrast, the Russians and Chinese each control 11-12%; and they are not allied with one another nearly as tightly as we are through NATO and our bilateral treaties. This is a power beyond anything the world has known in previous generations. This is real, obvious power, not the scheming of a conspiriacy theory. Most people completely skip over consideration of the US as an enemy of Israel, because, indeed, we are Israel's only powerful friend. With President Obama at the helm, we project American weakness to the world, coupled with clueless leadership. Behind that appearance of weakness, however, is the ability to literally crush any enemy, and to destroy humanity in the bargain. This is not "assymetric warfare". The very premise of assymetric warfare is, after all, that the two competing sides are assymetric; it is a lopsided match; we are in a whole different league from our enemies. When we behave as weaklings, it is not because we are weak; it is because it is politically expedient for our leaders to behave that way. Yes, Europe is the PRESENT DAY enemy of Israel; and the wars and threats to Israel from its neighbors, especially its Arab neighbors, are a proxy war of Europe against the Jews. When the US joins with Europe, however, as any watcher of the times can see is already in progress, that threat will be multiplied threefold. Israel needs to deal with this matter tactically, as an assymetrical confrontation that it cannot dodge. The rest of us need to be spiritually and psychologically prepared to deal with this reality.
