False ProphetReader comment on item: Tour d'Horizon: ISIS, Iran, Turkey, and the Palestinians Submitted by Michael S (United States), Feb 5, 2015 at 10:28 Russia is not mentioned anywhere in Ezekiel's prophecy, since the "Rus" did not form the first Russian kingdom until after 862 AD. In Ezekiel's time, they were a Scandanavian tribe. The word "rosh" in the prophecy means "head" or "chief" -- it is not a proper noun. Every nation mentioned in the prophecy was in Turkey, Iran, Sudan and Libya -- none were in Russia. Moscow did not exist until the 14th Century AD' but Meshech was in Turkey in Ezekiel's time. Tobolsk was founded by Cossacks in the 16th Century AD, but Tubal was in Turkey in Ezekiel's time. Turkey contained the northernmost civilized country in Ezekiel's time, namely, Lydia. I've said this before, so please don't make me keep repeating it. There is -zero- reason to believe the "Moscow & Tobolsk" theory. This was popularized by Hal Lindsey, a false prophet. You are welcome to believe false prophets; but I have no interest in them. LIndsay made his fortune, selling some 50 million copies of his book, which he and others have built a cult following around. May his money perish with him. As Paul said, 1 Timothy Just consider this: If Jesus were walking in the world today, would he be a rich man like Hal Lindsey? But Christians today fawn after such people. What James said, fits these people exactly: James 2 Pop preachers and false prophets like Lindsey just bring shame on the church, and turn away sincere seekers with their pompous show. Don't you remember Robert H. Schuller, and his Crystal Cathedral? I remember seeing him on TV in the 1970s. He also had a big following among the brethren. He preached a gospel of seeking after riches, that God would reward you if you supported the likes of him. In 2010, his ministry went bankrupt and the Crystal Cathedral was sold to the Roman Catholic Church. Why do you follow such people? You can see that their doctrine is empty. There is no prophecy in the Bible against Russia; but God says a great deal against the West, against the revived Roman Empire that we live in. God gives grace to the lowly, and abases the proud. Has there ever been a society on earth more proud than the West of today? A society where people deny the existence of God, yet are elevated to high places of honor; a society where people live like the Sodomites of old, and are proud of it? The Russians speak against such things; and in so doing, they agree with God. Why, then, do you go around prophesying that God wants to punish the Russians? True, God will punish all men for their sins; but His special fury is laid in store for US, not the Russians.
