Too much of Oil can be a bad thingReader comment on item: Might the Saudis Blow Up Their Oil Infrastructure? Submitted by Yldaed Suriv (United States), May 13, 2005 at 12:49 The lesson, if anybody chooses to learn from reports like these, is to earnestly start researching the possibility of using other cleaner forms of energy. Rich countries like the US, EU, China, Japan et al need to think BIG and aim to completely eliminate the usage of fossil fuels in the coming decades. The same enthusiasm that put a man on the moon during the cold war needs to be harnessed for a nobler and worthier cause. Unfortunately we are going full steam in the reverse direction - drilling in Alaska, modernizing Russia's oil infrastructure and supporting evil regimes around the world particularly Saudi Arabia. The increased consumption of oil by China and India in recent times has meant that this is going to be truly a race to the bottom (literally)!Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
