Reader comment on item: How Serious the Strain in U.S.-Israel Relations?

Obama is in retreat. His days are limited. Impeachment is no longer a threat. Having been fortuitously elected he can now do what he and his advisors have always wanted to do but never had the courage to do ---to go down scattering goodies for those deserving of his favors. "He's gone N...g-rich on us" , was the expression in South Philadelphia whenever anyone in the neighborhood hit the numbers and displayed their new found fortune to the envy of us all, but without any malice we always cheered and wished it would happen to us. The poor-[ read Black] gets medical coverage, the boys and girls may get to go to college and Michelle and the Mom gets a 3 million dollar estate in Hawaii. I wish him well--and a rousing good riddance. If that's all he accomplished, for all practical purposes so far, that's fine as far as it goes. But the regret we bear is our president and his advisors have cast an evil spell creating misguided loyalties between the two parties even as men of both parties know what is the right thing to do when it comes down to the good of the people. In time we will recover yet I'm nervously holding my breath as it still ain't over till the lady sings our National Anthem on January 20, 2017.

Citizens, do not despair, take heart, if there is still a chance of electing a president who is presidential timbre and Congressmen worthy of the office we may still get the American story back on track in spite of the demographic pollution we find difficult to restrain and a brief interruption attending to our racial dilemma that has slowed us down a bit.

Happy days may once again be here again.
