Jews Are The Only People With A Legal And Moral Right To "Palestine"Reader comment on item: The Emptying of Yemen Submitted by hrothgar (United Kingdom), Jun 18, 2015 at 05:35 The only people who can claim that "Palestine" is their homeland are the Jews. Having been dispersed by the Roman Empire after AD 70, the Jews had no choice but to resettle in surrounding areas and in time further afield in Europe and of course much later the New World. The fact that most of the Jews were forcibly removed from their country does not change the fact that it is their country,no more that expelling Americans from America would mean that their country was no longer their own. A minority of Jews remained in "Palestine" ,some set up settlements in Pagan Arabia. The whole of the Middle East was at this time becoming Christian, apart from Persia which was mainly Zoroastrian. The Christians and Jews ,in the main, got along together. In the 4th century the ruling power ,Rome ,was split into two halves, the Eastern Empire centred on Byzantium. Eventually Christianity became the dominant faith of the Empire. Muslims only appear centuries later with the bloody conquest of the ,then,Christian Middle Eastern Nations. Therefore the interloper is Islam who has no right to "Palestine" at all, only by brutal conquest. Jews started returning to the area in large numbers in the latter 19th century, buying land uncultivated by absentee owners. The Jews transformed these neglected areas into thriving villages of productivity. The Jews are the only people with a legal and moral claim to what is known as Palestine. Islam is the only Empire that has not relinquished it's grip on the Nations it conquered. If it is moral for Muslims to insist that "Palestine " is theirs,it is moral for Israel to claim the so called occupied territories. If it was any other race than the Jews there wouldn't be an argument, the West would be falling over itself to champion their rights. Israel has only a tiny bit of her legally and morally ancestral homelands;can't she be left in peace to govern their democracy? I cannot see why not.
