Have More Confidence In The Turkish Military

Thanks, Michael. I have a lot of confidence in the Turkish military. They have a good track record of enforcing secular Kemalism vis-a-vis Islamism. The Turkish military, like their Egyptian counterpart, tends to be pragmatic and generally rejects religious extremism, perhaps because they understand that Islamists pose a major threat to their power and control. It would be good for the West and Israel to have them back in the saddle.

While it's true that Turkey's demographics have devolved towards a lower common denominator, the extent of support for Islamism in Egypt is even greater, but popular sentiment only goes so far against the guys with the guns.
