perceptive observationReader comment on item: The 11th Encyclopædia Britannica on Who Lived in Palestine Submitted by dante (United States), Aug 12, 2016 at 19:13 Robert Frost was supposed to have said that "A liberal is a man too broadminded to take his own side in a quarrel." unfortunately, as society becomes more secular, what is erroneously called "liberalism" has supplanted traditional Judeo-Christian religions in America. the sacred text of contemporary "liberals" is the editorial page of the ny times. the reality that prompted Frost's remark seems innocent. now, the totalitarian impulse to suppress dissenting opinion & to demand conformity in thought, word and deed, is what passes for liberalism.
