Why does the PA not honor the rights of so-called Palestinian Jews living in Israel?Reader comment on item: The 11th Encyclopædia Britannica on Who Lived in Palestine Submitted by PezDispenser (Israel), Aug 16, 2016 at 11:31 My understanding is that there were approximately 700,000 "Palestinian" Jews living in the Mandate right before 1948. Based on natural population growth, those numbers could amount to 1-3 million "Palestinian" Israeli Jews today living in the area who have at least one father or grandfather born during the British Mandate. Yes, Zionist Jewish Palestinians, but still techincally "Palestinian" if they wish to be called such. Why can't this ignored niche culture be eligible to vote in the PA elections and push through democratic reforms while sitting in Haifa and Tel Aviv? Since the PA doesn't recognize Israel as the Jewish State, the least they could do is attend to the rights of the so-called "Jewish-Palestinian diaspora" - including the millions of Jews living in-between the Jordan and the Mediterranean. Maybe it's time for this neglected second-class Palestinian group to receive government handouts from Ramallah and the EU too. And if the so-called "Palestinian right of return" is indeed perpetual and uncompromising, and the Jews don't deserve their own State, and that pre-1948 Jews were OK to stay according to Arafatian ideology, isn't it fair to say that a lot of the "Palestinian right of return" has already materialized based on the fact that the "Palestinian" Jews and their descendants have settled in quite nicely since 1948? As long as the Arab "Palestinians" keep up their war with Israel, it might be time to claim for millions of Israelis to claim their "Palestinian" rights! (Yes, this is satire.)
