Christians also wear "burkinis"

Not just pious Jews and Muslims, but also Christians who take seriously the admonition to women to "dress modestly" (1 Timothy 2:9), wear something like the burkini. Examples can be found at the website Cover up for Christ.

People whose conscience prompts them in this direction, of whatever faith, will find the way the ban in Cannes is worded deeply ironic: "toute personne n'ayant pas une tenue correcte, respectueuse des bonnes mœurs et de la laïcité" ("anyone without proper dress which is respectful of good morals and secularism...").
