"Wuzu" would also protect against covid19!?/why not a woman?Reader comment on item: Ban the Burqa, Allow the Burkini Submitted by A very concerned reader, Feb 20, 2021 at 01:50 Dhimmi No More! You really spot on in this one! I remember to have read this article when it was published but I didn't read the comments at that time. "Allah wears a Hijab! Mashallah. Is this cross dressing or is Allah a woman" Why not a woman? Muslims will be shaking their heads with real despair! Well according to them, we women are inferior to men, and of course, dumb, because we can't take logical decisions since we're too much emotional creatures. We must be in charge of men because of course, once again, how on earth a women could be able to make a living by working? Especially, when we were made for running the house and raising the kids...On top of it, we're not pure once a month, despite Muslimahs are raised to be the only women of purity of the world. At that "embarrassing " monthly time, we can't touch the Qur'an, neither can we fast or pray! But we must feel lucky because if He commands that, it's indeed for our good! But, are Muslimahs then pure or not? I'm confused! Too much for the ignorance, Dhimmi No More. I was told that Islam was perfect because wuzu (ablution) protect Muslims from infections and viruses. Probably, another reason to put religion over science. How lucky! So I can imagine that I would have been told this as well in this pandemic era. The same about the hijab! Something I definitely rejected with all the logical arguments you can imagine. By the way, just like you, I'm in love with etymology since it was a part of my studies but of romance languages, although I tried to learn as much as I could at that nefastous time, and seems that wuzu comes from a Turkish word. So no idea why it's said wuzu among urdu speakers? Is it another mix of Arabic/English nonsense? I'd love to know if you got this answer for me :) In my country, burqas, hijabs, niqabs, burkinis and, of course, dupatta, coexist without any ban. Niqabis girls walk with their prams every day in the suburbs. And I can't deny that as much as I respect their choice, it's disturbing to only be able to see their eyes. I'm sorry. I can't understand why a woman has to be hidden and silenced with such a pieces of garments. It should be banned as it infringes with women's rights. Needless to say the threaten that this pose, as Dr Pipes stated in this article. They settle in these suburbs, which every time can be counted in a greater number, and whenever I need to go to these areas, I am looked like an intruder. All men along the street, sitting at the cafes, smoking their cigarettes at any time of the day. Like they did home. They don't embrace the customs of their host countries. However, we walk the streets like the uninvited guests. And believe me that these men dont lower their gaze down as it's said in their Qur'an. Their gazes reveal nothing but lust. I definitely feel uncomfortable. But I can't complain. Or I would be accused as an intolerant. That's it for today! I hope you're sound and safe without the need of using these garments! ;) Your friend, A very concerned reader Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
