This will tear the democratic party apart

First, it will take time, before the impeachment process will start, and time, before it is finished. In the meantime, USA will be weak and vulnerable.
Second. Although Trump possibly will be a terrible pesident, there will still be tea party members, who will support him.

This will tear the republican party apart. So the antitrump republicans and president Pence will have to work with the democrats. The democarts then will demand political concessions, which will probably not be conservative.

Third. President Pence and the republicans voting for impeachment of president Trump will have to face the voters in 2020 (Some already in 2018). This will not be easy, if they have removed a republican president and supported nonconservative reforms in order to please the democrats.
