Hi, Prashant

I agree with you, on all points.

Concerning immigration, my grandmother immigrated in 1907, with her father and sister. She had a very difficult time, her first two husbands dying withing only a few years of each other. Her father came here from Slovenia, where he was an itinerant farm laborer, eager to start a new life as a saloon keeper. Then Prohibition hit; and he and my grandfather became tin-cutters. My great-grandfather's cousin died when a saw blade flew loose in the mill; and my ggrandfather died a few years later, committing suicide a week after the Stock Market crash. Then my grandmother lost all her land before dying at an early age, and around that time, my uncle died in his teens. It was a hard life; but everyone in the family was proud to be American, and never looked back to the "old country".

I'm glad to see that Dr. Carson accepted the HUD position. He was my favorite candidate while he was in the running; because he has always impressed me as humble, highly intelligent and principled.

I have been surfing around a bit, and think I know where Daniel Pipes is. He's sailing in the Caribbean, letting the sun and sea breezes soothe the post-election blues that so many Americans seem to be having.

I am glad that Trump won, rather than Hillary ("Ronald the Donald" vs. the "Wicked Witch of the Midwest"):

This country faces such great problems, no President can fix them all; and when America fails, the rest of the world fails with it. Nevertheless, Mr. Trump offers us a few more years of sanity before civilization falls apart.
