Russia is ahead of US knowledge of local languagesReader comment on item: America's Know-Nothing Diplomacy [article] Submitted by Grigorij Serscikov (United States), Nov 15, 2016 at 03:55 I absolutely agree with Dr Pipes and the reader "dhimmi no more" who commented on my feedback about Dr Pipe's article. Unfortunately, it is not only the case with Arabic and all other Oriental languages in the US. The famous faux pas of former State Secretary Hillary Clinton and her button with inscription on it in Russian "peregruzka" ("overcharged") instead of "perezagruzka" ("reset"), made many Russians wonder whether the State Department was unable to find a single descent Russian speaker/translator to put it in a right way. I have seen time and again the situations when many Americans who would claim the fluent knowledge of the language end up speaking a broken and intelligible Sabir - an ugly simulacrum which I have the name for - "A Condoleezza Rice's Russian". Kind regards,
