Ike's Piece Of Paper More Worthless Than Obama'sReader comment on item: Ike's Gamble Submitted by Dave, Mar 9, 2017 at 11:17 At least the JCPOA represents an effort with a formal mechanism to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons, deeply flawed though it may be. On the other hand, Ike forced Israel and her British and French allies to relinquish the Sinai to Nasser after the '56 war despite Nasser's genocidal threats against Israel and Egypt's Fedayeen terrorist operations. Although there was an agreement drawn up that supposedly guaranteed border security for Israel, no real effort was made to ensure enforcement and it proved to be a worthless piece of paper that didn't deter Nasser in '67. I've heard it alleged that John Foster Dulles was an anti-Semite, and given his fawning attitude towards Nasser I believe it.
