Obama's Gamble

Obama's attempts to court both the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran was probably another attempt to win what appears to be the "wave of the future" in the Middle East. Unhappily, as with the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran in our time, in Ike's time, Arab Nationalism chose the Western world as its enemy.

If anything, this suggests that the USA would be far wiser to adopt a wait and see foreign policy rather than an activist one.
