Can western culture quell the middle east fires?

The Shah of Iran by arrangement with the US State Department brought over western artists with the same objectives. Benevolent he wasn't.

I know theater professionals, musicians etc. including my own husband who earned good money on these tours. The last theater workshop my husband conducted was two weeks before the revolution. He was encouraging the actors to try Shakespear's tragedies but they told him no. It was forbidden to do plays about the death of kings.
