Thanking Tarık Gunersel

Dear Dr Pipes, It was very enlightening for me to see Tarık Gunersel's posting of Ataturk's approach to democracy and caliphates. I have known about Ataturk as a historical figure but I did not know how correct his thoughts were. I must thank Tarık Gunersel for summarizing the essentials of Ataturk's approach in his message.

If I may say so, Ataturk's approach outlines how a modern Islam that coexists in peace with itself and everyone else can be created. I am motivated enough to read more about Ataturk and I should thank Tarık Gunersel for his message.
