Lessons of history: Do not listen to pacififists, self-haters, Islamophiles or the chronically naiveReader comment on item: Florida Museum Celebrates the Loss of Hagia Sophia Submitted by Dean (United States), May 30, 2017 at 06:11 There is a lesson here for all countries who think that appeasement or laying down arms and going the diplomatic route with Islamic entities will lead to peace. Israel, for instance, knows that weakness leads to more conquest when your neighbors are violent Islamists with their sights on non-Islamic targets. There are many - pacifists, self-haters, Islamophiles and the chronically naive - who will urge us to change our way of life and our foreign policy and how we hire people to various posts to give Islam the advantage and upper hand in every instance. Do not listen. What they are saying is that they want Islam to replace the best culture and system of democracy in the world. They want Islam to predominate and to replace the West with a Caliphate or for Islam to be in a position to just take over as they gather strength with the power offered to them on silver platters.
