European and Islamic colonists

Dear Dr Pipes, your reader NutriG compared Western colonialism with the Islamic history of conquering and colonizing lands. NutriG said that Islamic invaders have no regret or shame for what they did. I think the reason for this self-righteousness is that while the western colonist did it for economic profits, Islamic attackers used religion as an excuse and somehow convinced themselves and everyone else that they are/were working for Allah.

That is why it is very important for non-Muslims of today to make a distinction between Islam the religion and Islam the political party. If Muslims do not distinguish between church and state, we need to do it for them.
