smaller countries deserve more attentionReader comment on item: A Historic Step in Austria? Submitted by myth (Germany), Apr 10, 2018 at 19:00 "hardly anyone outside the country noticed", certainly no one in Germany did. One can watch the German evening news every day for years on end without seeing any mention of Austria at all. Austria and Germany do share the same language. How about that? Along those lines German news ignores Denmark, The Netherlands, Belgium. By and large German news ignores the more affluent countries among our neighbors (nine of them I believe). In similar fashian the Dutch news ignores Belgium. Again, half of Belgium and The Netherlands share one language. Smaller countries deserve more attention. It seems they watch their larger neighbors more than they are considered by their arrogant larger betters. The small countries aggregate more experience and wisdom.
