Having come back to this post after mulling its implication of why some believe death is a preferred alternative to the existence they have been compelled to endure for the lack of anything else; what compels a Gazan to prefer suicide as opposed to seeking life in face of the difficulties and win a superior means to live life more fully. Who taught the people of Gaza to despair? Who teaches them now?
Since 2005, does Israel rule Gaza? The Israelis certainly bear much control in the Strip when facing the hatred of Hamas and their minions and act in defense of tunnel attacks and fire-bombings: who's to blame for that? When Israel formally held Gaza before 2005, were the rebellions against Israeli control as deeply rooted as they are now? Who willfully holds on to the hatred that destroys the will of the people?
The post reads, '..you cannot make a people accept defeat if they have already lost the fear of death;' who actually imposes the 'fear of death' in this case? Does not the Hamas 'government' impose that fear initially in order to compel compliance of a mindset that the leaders are preaching death to attain that which they are so fearful themselves that they are not willing to look for the more peaceful means?
The world looks on as if they are spectators only, yet in the darkened minds of a complicit mentality that holds sway in the halls of the United Nations, not offering at all any of the reasoning that may lead to the salvation of a people that have been lied to for the entirety of their individual lives and the entirety of the tribal history they and their ancestors have been immersed in. One could say that the British are complicit in this initially, but it has been going on for much longer than that.
What is missing in all of this is one of the more compelling absences of the human drama that plays out so dramatically as lives are terminally spent in useless barrages of hate filled attempt to change which cannot be changed in this way: but does the Hamas leadership tell the truth about that? No: instead they steal those lives for their own selfish pursuits, making the people pay for their evil indulgences.
Hamas steals the hope, exchanging true hope for peaceful lives for a cause that cannot bear peace because they do not seek peace. They cannot surrender they bitterness, for doing so would mean to acknowledge they and their predecessors were, and have been, wrong. All they have managed to do is put Israel's face in the mirror where they should be able to see what has been wrong all along; their own hearts have lost their own hope and the people are being punished for not being able to hear the truth.
Seek the truth; seek the Hope; and most importantly, seek the love that can be shared instead. Ask Hamas to try that instead of pursuing the hatred that will kill them all for no real reason.
