What Needs Protecting And WhyReader comment on item: Europe's Civilizationist Parties Submitted by Dave (United States), Oct 18, 2018 at 21:10 The real far rightists are those Muslims and Third World denizens whose attitudes towards women, gays and other religions are far more intolerant and antediluvian than would be acceptable by traditional western norms. Much of Islamic culture is essentially fascist, as Geert Wilders has maintained. In order to keep out the brown shirts, the West is like a saloon in need of a good bouncer, and a good bouncer is generally a pretty rough character. Western culture is certainly worth preserving. It took centuries to achieve the legal protections we have. Only in the West can the average person be reasonably assured of a fair trial, and actually have the freedoms promised by so many countries' constitutions, but so often breached. The US, with its Bill of Rights, stands out in its First Amendment guarantee of freedom of speech. At long last and perhaps for the first time in history, being unpopular is not a crime. Those who curse the West for its alleged racism need to appreciate just how valuable those legal rights are to minorities. What took hundreds of years to achieve can all be undone quickly should waves of non-western immigrants overwhelm the West, and that is physically possible in today's world of 7.6 billion people, increasing annually by 80 million plus. There is no way to adequately assimilate those numbers. Until the rest of the world catches up, we need a good bouncer.
