What resources does Afghanistan have?Reader comment on item: Do Moderate Muslims Exist? Submitted by Dave (United States), Apr 22, 2019 at 11:11 We've poured a king's ransom into Afghanistan, but I'm not aware of that rathole being especially resource rich, or otherwise beneficial in any significant way. Actually, I tend to think that it's been a huge waste of our own resources and that an explicitly announced intent on our part to take control of natural resources would somewhat compensate for all the squandering of our money and lives. I also find it cruelly ironic that our largely Christian military are being sacrificed in a country which ranks at the very top, along with North Korea, for persecution of Christians, according to Open Doors.
