I worry NOT about moderate/fundamentalist etc MuslimsReader comment on item: Do Moderate Muslims Exist? Submitted by Prashant, Apr 28, 2019 at 11:24 Dear Dr Pipes, I do not have the resources to determine who is a moderate Muslim and who is not. It is just too difficult to determine a single person's moderacy let alone that of every Muslim in the world. And then we run into even more unsolved problems like being able to differentiate between true and untrue Muslims. Media likes to classify Muslims into extremist and non-extremist groups. That classification is even more bothersome. I want to have none of that. Too difficult for me. I go one level down. I go down to the root cause. What is moderate in Quran 5-33 which recommends merciless murders of non-believers? The brutality recommended in 5-33 is unacceptable even if the, so called, non-believers were active enemy soldiers. What can be moderate in the hypocrisy that Muslims demand democracy where ever they are in minority but demand Islamic rule everywhere else? What can be moderate in the blatantly selfish Islamic laws of interfaith marriage? What can be moderate about calling oneself the last prophet without any evidence? What can be moderate about calling others' scriptures corrupted even when they say pretty much the same things as the best sayings of your own book (and some times better). So there is nothing moderate about Islam and if you are a true believer in Islam, you are probably not a moderate anything. Every stranger --Muslim or otherwise-- deserves a fair treatment. So if you meet me on the street, you are just fine. When you start defending the above cited principles, I promise to stand up against you. And I promise to oppose these principles where ever they stand. So, yes, every country that projects Islam as its religion, is not moderate.
