I was born and raised in Moscow. The late Genrich Trofimenko was a family friend of my parents. We knew that as a privileged academik, he was a regime apologist, but he was a nice character in private life. he had a an unlimited sense of humor and told numerous stories about the time he spent in Western countries, which we did not dream of ever visiting... little did we knew. Btw he worked at the Institute of USA and Canada, it is a little strange that he was classed as a Middle East specialist.
