It is very hard to deal with violence with maximum restraint almost non violent. A bit like parents who have a deliquent child. Who would like the disruptive child to go away , but have to keep him , and in a way that he/she does not disturb other children in the family. That is probably what the folks are trying to do.

After all a harsher approach in Palastine would affect the peace in Israel with Arab Israelis and leftists creating a din.

The problems of Israel are so similar to that of India.
