Dr Pipes,
A pleasure as always to read your interviews. One thing I have particularly admired is your steadfastness against Turkey and Erdogan, and how you have said on at least a dozen occasions that we shouldn't sacrifice 'Cyprus and Greece to appease Erdogan.' A brilliant statement if I ever heard one
On the issue of Israel /Armenia/ Azerbaijan - you mentioned Israel as the wild card in that morally and strategically it should be aligned with Armenia and yet is supported Azerbaijan. I am a huge supporter of israel and I support Israel victory and I have travelled there countless times however I felt very disappointed in their decision to support Azerbaijan. Are you willing to rebuke that decision and state that you too disagree with their decision and felt it was wrong? Or do you feel that whatever reason they felt to justify it is sufficient?
Best regards,
Nicholas

Daniel Pipes replies:
While understanding the Israeli strategic imperatives that have led to close relations with Azerbaijan, and also noting the benefits this brought Israel in Iran, I oppose Israeli support for the Azeri aggression versus Armenia.
