Insidious Thought - NATO Only As Good As Individual National Moral Strength - United Front in QuestionReader comment on item: The Scramble for Europe Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Apr 7, 2022 at 14:48 It became apparent some time back that the darkened influences of former Soviet satellite countries could never be totally free from the dominating power the former Soviet Union held in each of the old SSR's and the remnant effects that have since regriped and regrouped in the border regions. The Ukraine is the classic example; but Chechnya takes it a step further. Indeed, the entirety of the former Iron Curtain is still under that threat. And Russian Leader Putin knows and counts on it. Further, it is becoming apparent as well that even though his current military situation is not necessarily as battle ready as he had anticipated, the determination to get as much damage done as possible in this phase will also give him a sense of what he is facing when the next phase is inevitably released to advance an apparent agenda to solidify a greater global standing in a world society that fears the Russian military presence just exactly as it has been presented.
