au contraireReader comment on item: The Scramble for Europe Submitted by David (United States), Apr 20, 2022 at 01:04 She's a chaotic candidate with no institutional support, with no party representation in the legislature, and sadly, it appears she is an unreconstructed version of her father. Years of saying positive things about Israel for example, have proven evidently to be a ruse. But as regards immigration, how does a woman who is reviled and has no institutional support in her country, achieve anything? I can't fathom how. If she pulls off an upset she will just bring disrepute to the Right in France. She cannot govern, except in some alliance with the Islamo-left, which as you well know, is her only hope for an upset victory. The only positive thing she will accomplish is that by bringing immiseration to the French Jews as well (who almost uniformly view her as a threat, as I noted), she will cause a demographic strengthening in Israel. Incidentally, besides expressing an interest in having Jews not wear the yarmulke, she's also expressed an interest in stripping French-Israelis of their French citizenship, perhaps unaware of the implications this will have for the future of any coalition in French society, against the rising tide of Islamism. If only such a measure would have a significant bearing on removing some large overseas Muslim population of its citizenship and impact on French politics, but since France is a relatively attractive place compared to any Muslim country, it is hard to imagine that there is a large population fitting this category. She will do nothing to strengthen the demography of France, only maybe that of Israel. And that, is the only good she may accomplish, I believe. Nothing whatsoever for France.
