Resorting to Conspiracy Theory When the Truth is Being Manipulated

Reader comment on item: Fellow Conservatives, Please Reject Conspiracy Theories

Dr. Pipes' appeal to more a rational course of discerning what can be trusted and what should be jettisoned for variable courses of conjecture is good advice: too bad it cannot be appropriated in equity towards politcal issues in America; indeed, globally.
For this observer, there will be no answer to the phenomenon that is President Trump; conspiratorial or not; he remains the enigma that the Republican Party will never understand (how did he win 2016 when all indicators should have brought Clinton into power to continue the Obama Legacy, now in the background currently and recovering from the Trump interruption), the main issue with the 2020 loss is that the election was certified without verifiable published evidence of poll results.
Dr. Pipes' contention of not resorting to conspiracy theory is good advice when all sides of the politcal spectrum abide by rules of good conduct and seeks obedience to the rule of law. As can be seen for the last three presidential cycles, such adherence to practical and balanced governance has been short-sighted and in many instances, completelyl contraindicative to the protection of the freedoms that were promised to 'we the people', conspiracy theories springing up to explain why. With the complete abdication of both politcal parties in stopping anarchic out of control excesses of criminal behaviors for the last two years (longer, but in extreme excess recently), America is found to be a victim of those conspiracy theories for a reason: it hides the truth.
Unless and until America is restored to the way of life that was envisioned by the founders, returning to the true moral basis that was America's onetime hallmark in the world community (now gone), all that will be made culpable for America's loss of her former greatness will be that recounted in conspiracy theories.
