Its a Hydra-headed MonsterReader comment on item: Palestinians Taste a Dose of Their Own Medicine Submitted by Rakshas 10 Anan (India), Nov 16, 2005 at 12:25 We will need to shift the ground and kill it. Once the Arabs join the battle against the terrorists, it will mark the beginning of the end to Islamist violence, should it undermine its theological legitimacy in the minds of Muslims all over the world. To that extent, it is a welcome start that the lessons of terrorist violence are arriving on their shores. The dividing lines are getting blurred, to the benefit of the long-term victims. While it is true that Jordan is practically a Palestinian homeland, under US pressure there's been a lot of moderation in recent years. It was one of the first Arab nations to recognise Israel; the King of Jordan was one of the first among world leaders to sharply condemn the Beslan horrors as unIslamic. Naturally it is the first to suffer terrorist attacks among the Arab states. I wonder when this can happen in Saudi Arabia, the chief source of jihadi funding. Muslims have been brutally killing Muslims for a very long time in Iran and Iraq. Contrarily, while political pundits often point to the schisms among Muslim communities, to my mind the differences get easily bridged in negative acts against non-Muslims because of the strong binding force of the Koran and the Ka'aba. Then again, it is important not fo focus entirely on Arabs as the perpetrators and sponsors of terrorism, but to also continue to tighten the noose around Pakistan and Iran, so strong in jihadi ideology, down from the leaders to the masses. The biggest news in India just now relates to its backing the US and UN initiative in the vote against Iran's nuclear ambitions, with the Iran government strongly and directly inciting the Indian Leftists who are supporting the coalition government to compel the Indian government to back off. A specious argument offered is that Kashmiri Muslims, who have been traditionally close to Persians will not like it, nevermind Indian national interests at a critical time like this! It would not be a surprise to learn that in fact not Arabs, but Iranis are the main foreigners alongside Pakistanis active in Kashmir terrorism, given the old cultural ties with local Muslims. It is not an accident that the Delhi bombings followed soon after Iran's threats against the Indian vote, and the subsequent upsurge in terrorist killings in post-earthquake Kashmir! The West has given much credence to Islamist doublespeak on Kashmir, much of it emanating from Pakistan. The chickens are now coming home to roost. Kashmir's history, it must be remembered, goes way beyond Islam. Ethnic cleansing of Hindus from Kashmir (as in Bangladesh) was accomplished so smoothly that the world thinks of Kashmir as a Muslim-only state! The Hindu history of Kashmir is woven into its very fabric, as the name of its capital, Srinagar suggests! At the time of partition, it was ruled by a Hindu King, albeit as a vassal of the British, like everywhere else in India. The British have kept silent about their terrible complicity in the confusion surrounding the Partition and the subsequent twisted Islamist position on Kashmir. It is not an accident that the original Himalayan cradle of human civilisation is now threatened, whether in Kashmir, Nepal or Tibet! On its survival depends the survival of the entire civilisation in the present cycle of humanity.
