"wishful thinking"--exactlyReader comment on item: Salman Rushdie Was Never Safe Submitted by Timothy D Hadley (United States), Aug 19, 2022 at 11:56 A brilliant analysis that brings needed clarity. "Wishful thinking" is the perfect way to describe Mr. Rushdie's approach, even as far back as when he conceived of such a book and believed that he could write and publish it safely. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
