Death to America

"Death to America."

Anything unclear about that very public and often repeated statement? It's just three words.

The kind of almost poetic simplicity and clarity that could only come from holy men who have spent their lives studying their religion. (Though I confess I can't remember the last time the Dalai Lama said anything close to that.)

We've heard it a million times. Our leaders pretend they've never heard it even once. Why?

--Surely they don't mean it. Surely they'll negotiate in good faith when they stop yelling.

--The wonderful and reliable "moderates" are just showing their revolutionary bona fides. Not to worry.

--etc., etc.

Why not just take them at their word? Holy men don't tell lies.

How's this for a very public response: OK, message received, loud and clear. Thanks for the honesty, we believe you. And we'll act accordingly.
