Abdallah Schleifer fake propaganda and revealing some admitted factsReader comment on item: The Soviets' Six-Day War Submitted by Nir (United States), Dec 29, 2022 at 22:53 World Jewry. (1973). United Kingdom: World Jewish Congress. p. 27. David Carrington 'Arab Apologists' The character and content of these two works seem to a large extent pre-determined by the personal history of their authors, Schleifer is ... journalist who reported extensively on the Cuban revolution, on Quebec revolutionary nationalism, and on black nationalism in the U.S.A. After visiting Morocco and settling for a time in Tangier, he returned in 1964 to he United States where he converted to Islam. Later, he went to live in the Arab sector of Jerusalem, where he edited the Palestine News, and in 1967 survived the six-day war without undue difficulty. With this kind of background it is not altogether surprising to find that the basic premise of his book is that Israel represents a dynamic "settler-colonialism". And so successful are the awful (to him) Israelis in disguising this fact that the Jewish State has completely evaded the "colonial" label (at least in the West). Thus, Schleifer turns out to be the only rabidly anti-Jewish propagandist (in the Arab-Jew dispute) who can claim with pride actually to have lived in a house in Jerusalem which was formerly the residence of Haj Amin el Husseini. That the convert has derived spiritual sustenance, not to mention revolutionary ardour, from his temporary domicile in such hallowed occupied territory is plain from such comments as, "If there is a governing style for every culture, in Israel that style is [sic] theft [sic]". He reveals that when in Cairo in the midsixties reading official U.A.R. English - language pamphlets "reeking of a musty European antisemitism", he discovered that the source was "a porcelain Englishman from Oswald Mosley's fascist I often wondered about those pamphlets. Another glimpse of the truth was vouchsafed Schleifer during an incident in Jerusalem while attending prayers on Friday, June, 2, 1967. That day, Ahmed Shukeiry was taken by Anwar al-Khatib, the governor of the Old City, to the Haram al-Sharif. The crowd clamoured for him to speak. Shukeiry obliged. "H., a middle-aged local businessman who rarely came to prayer, took me aside. He had passed the Mandate struggles against the British and the Zionists in the arms of his Jewish mistress (his family were 'leading Arab moderates of the time') and is one of the few men of his generation I have ever met who is still infatuated with Hitler. 'If war comes we will finish them. I'll take you into the New City and we will have their women'.
