Questionable sourceReader comment on item: The Soviets' Six-Day War Submitted by Oscar Navarro (United States), Jun 3, 2007 at 20:50 I don't think Victor Suvorov is a reliable source. For example. In "Ice Breaker" he points out that Stalin was really responsible for WWII by craftilly giving Hitler the opportunity to defeat Poland and then engage the western democracies. According to Stalin, Hitler and the decadent west would bleed each other until both were so weakened that all Stalin had to do was cross into Germany unoppossed. When Stalins' plan was derailed by Hitlers rapid and total victory over France in May/June 1940 a new plan had to be adopted. That plan became the invasion of Germany set to occur during July 1941. That plan was also derailed when Germany launched a pre-emptive invasion in June 22 1941. According to Suvorov, Hiltler had to invade. This interpretation flies in the face of established historical accounts. While I'm all for revisionist history if it's well researched and backed up by credible sources Suvorov fails in this area. His analysis and conclusions are mainly anecdotal, therefore almost impossible to verify.
