This is not the problem of west only.

Dr Daniel Pipes has raised again very burning issue. The ongoing debate in America on some tough measures against Islamic terrorism has some common point for every country. Every country which claims to be follower of democracy and its principles, are caught in dilemma on the subject of terrorism. If they apply some harsh measures to counter Islamic terrorism they are being treated as killer of civil liberties and freedom. If they allow these civil liberties then in some sense they are inviting Islamists to exploit the lacuna of democratic system. So it has become a real problem for every democracy how to make balance between civil liberties and national securities. Some so called leftists, liberals, Islamist apologists ,human right activists, acitivists for civil liberties have made this problem more serious and complicated for them every action if national security looks as opposite to human rights or minorities.
When I am talking about this phenomenon it not applies only to America it is very much relevant in India also. After the last years general elections when BJP ruled government face defeat and new government controlled by communists and ruled by Congress took power they scraped all provisions which were effective ammunition against Islamic terrorism and these acts were abolished on the ground as either they were discriminatory for muslims or they were misused against Muslims. This was happened due to the support of left-liberal lobby. After seeing how Indian government bends on knee before this lobby we witnessed lot of other examples from around the world how democracies compromised on the matter of national security only to appese muslims and their left-liberal lobby. Israel decided to withdraw itself from Gaza what they achieved after it is very much clear to everyone ,Britain was forced to backtrack from some of its decisions against Islamic terrorism as locking some masjids or making necessary for every maulvi to clear test of Britishness ,French establishment concluded as riots were indication for them to do some more for the immigrants .Recent clash in Australia were also put under carpet .Why all this happening ,why nobody come out with real story and why no democracy dare to take on these Islamists .
It has a valid reason behind this.It is true that Islamic terrorism is a global threat and every civilization and democracy are under constant danger but they still have not decided to come out with a common strategy and common programme against this global threat.
The world is no less in danger as it was in the background of second world war when fascism and Nazism had challenged the basic values of world order. At that time super powers came together but this time this polarization is little bit slower.
One reason why civilizations not coming together is they have their interests and reservation against each other.For example in western countries Church have direct threat from Islamic terrorism but in India they do not want to collaborate with Hindus who also have common enemy because church and Hindus do not trust each other. Church is indulged in prosleytization and Hindus term it as direct attack on their identity.
So Church do not hesitate in collaborating with Left-Liberal lobby to demoralize anti-Islamists movement.
This is high time for the intelligentia of west should also think on this matter also.Hindu culture do not have any confrontationist approach with Christianity and west as it has with Islam.
Hindus are the only people on this earth who after Jews have faced the atrocity of Islam.
If one could believe it or not but fact is that Islamic terrorism has some cultural root also and it want to destroy every other culture.
The real problem is democracies do not want to portray them as killer of civil liberties because they follow western model and they think themselves accountable towards western agencies and UN .Once western democracies will ease pressure from othe democracies to look so much muslim and minority friendly ,they will get some scope to fell heavily upon extremist tendency of Islamic terrorism.
It is good to see the efforts of Dr Daniel Pipes and his efforts have proved if one man is right and dare to stand courageously he alone can make a difference. But still more efforts are needed on this front.
