Peter, I do not know what kind of sanitized version of the Quran you have read but I suggest you read the Arabic version which is the true face of Islam. Among other things, obviously killing infidels and being rewarded by seventy-two virgins in Paradise by a blood thirsty diety was effaced from your Quran. That being said, why do you? like all apologists for Islam, hark back centuries to compare and rationalize the barbaric acts of Islamic terrorists. If you have read my post correctly, you would have noticed I am talking about contemporary times, I never spoke about the past, you and I are living in the present so lets compare and talk about the present. Logically or illogically speaking according to you, if my one of my ancestors was a mass murderer then the descendants of his victims could be excused if they avenged their death by killing me. However, do not forget the rape, plunder and pillage by moslem invaders from the borders of North Africa to India and China and the far east in their quest to Islamacize everything in their path.

So back to contemporary times, Like I said before, the United States which is a civilized western nation is not specifically targetting women and children, but it is the terrorists who are hiding among civilian populations, notably among women and children that should be blamed for their deaths.Most of the sucide bombers in Iraq today are targetting Iraqi civilians and those are the pictures of the women and children you must be seeing on your TV. Again, talking about the present, you will be hard pressed to find any minority in any Islamic country who will back your claim that they enjoy equal rights as their Moslem counterparts.Just to name a few, talk to the people in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Indonesia, Sudan etc, who are the people committing all the terrorist crimes in the name of religion "TODAY" ???

Besides your voracious reading, I suggest you do research before you make any baseless statements, try walking the walk before you can talk the talk.
