Islam - The Downfall of the World??Reader comment on item: Something Rotten in Denmark? Submitted by Nathan B (United Kingdom), Feb 7, 2006 at 06:03 I am a 21 year old man, who has lived in the UK from birth. I am also white. The comments I am about to express here are clearly going to be interpreted as "racist" but race has nothing to do with it. The colour of skin means nothing to me. At the same time religion means nothing to me, I am an atheist, I don't believe in any kind of god, i put my "faith" in science, although I am not suggesting that science in itself is some fort of believe, its how it is.Religion and belief, in my eyes, has caused pretty much most of the wars through time, and why? Why such a senseless waste of life over a belief? These are modern times, we don't need religions? The conception of deities and religions were from our primeval days when we had little or no comprehension of the world around us, I say "we" I mean they. They couldn't work out why something happened, like fire, or lightning, or eclipses, or the age old debate of "why are we here". This spawned belief, and with belief, came religion. The influence of 1 man, probably a tribal leader, who comes up with an "explanation" for why they exist and why everything else around them exists; as the people were none the wiser, they believed him and had them all under his control. A prime example of this foolishness of the people or the more recent religion of Mormon - Founded on the belief of one man who found ancient scripts out in the wilderness - I cannot believe how gullible people really are. In this modern day there is no need for religion, it may have helped then, but not now. We have science, it pretty much disproves of anything that has been said previously in any holy script. These are even some religions, like some of the more "extreme" Christians in the US that will not accept that the dinosaurs ever existed, that we evolved from apes. the book of Genesis is take word for word, it HAS to be right and as such they are some of the most arrogant and condescending people in the world, but they have one saving grace, as pretty much every religion in the world, with the exception of a few, and mainly Islam; they don't feel the need to kill or terrorise innocent people to get their views across, and I respect them for that, even though I do not agree with them. Islamism ...fills them with hate for anyone that doesn't follow them. Any religion that promotes the killing of others is wrong. They try to teach their third world lies to people from the west. Only a few, sad individuals fall for it, what fools they are. They have no respect for women, in fact they are the only ones I feel sorry for, oppressed by the men, there's no equality at all. I have recently been to Paris, and whilst there I saw a Muslim family walking along, it was an extremely hot day, over 30 centigrade the husband was strolling along in shorts and his t-shirt, his wife was head to toe in black cloth, probably close to exhaustion. This was bad, but when she stopped to have a drink, she turned her head to the wall in case we could see her face...its disgusting how they are treated. Now these are just petty quibbles. The main problem with Islam is there need to kill, kill and kill some more. The 9/11 attacks, the London Subway attacks, the Taliban, the insurgency in Iraq, Chechen rebels. Pretty much all the current deadly problems with the world are caused by Muslims and their "faith". The Christians themselves used to kill for religious needs during the Crusades, but those were in medieval times when no one knew better. You don't see them flying planes into Mosques do you? Kidnapping and beheading Jews to promote Christianity. They've risen above terror tactics. Now you'll see a guy in town, handing out flyers asking you to come along to church one day. God, the Christian god is depicted, good or bad, in cartoons and movies and the religion is often made fun of - Monty Pythons Holy Grail and Life of Brian both make a joke out of Christianity, and their TV shows often poked fun at Catholicism. But the worst that came of it? Christian communities complained to the censors, amongst themselves and to the news papers, but there were never any threats to kill or massacre. On the other hand, these recent satirical drawings of Allah, has caused mass protests that actively call for those involved, and anyone who isn't Muslim to be wiped off the face of the earth. It's not just an over reaction, it's what these people think is the "right" thing to do, and the sooner someone puts a stop to it, the better. The problem is, they have us running scared. Political Correctness has taken away any free speech we had and giving it to them. No one has been arrested for inciting this religious hate, people dress up as suicide bombers and left along by the police. But a white man dares to hold up a picture of the offending cartoons? They arrest him right away. Meanwhile, the Muslim protestors spreading hate and dressing up as suicide bombers march on; spreading hate and lies about our civilised countries and beliefs. The people dressed as suicide bombers should have been arrested on the spot, or shot on sight; they shot a Brazilian guy they "thought" was a bomber running onto the Underground and he didn't even look like one. How are the police supposed to know if these protestors aren't the real thing? But the truth is, they're scared, the nation as a whole is scared and the Political Correctness rubbish ruins everything. Step wrong with someone's colour or belief and your in jail, or the entire country gets fined by the EU. Just put an end to this madness and an end to Islam as it is! If anyone is offended by this, you shouldn't be, it is my opinion. Civilised opinions are fine, there's no hate here, only towards these fools that feel the need to kill and promote killing. There are some decent Muslims around, I know a few and they hate the way their religion is being portrayed by these few, but the underlying problem of this world is Religion. Go and buy a book on science and evolution and you'll see its much more interesting than these 2000 year old fairy tales .
