New Academy

While reading Dr. Pipes' article, I could not help but think of the academic defense of Soviet communism when the truth was obvious to even the most myopic simpleton.

It seems that being a leftist means one has to sell objectivity down the river and embrace nonsense that denigrates the very society that has given you the freedom to pursue a work in cerebral fields. Thinkers, these " experts" are not. It would appear to a lowly worker bee, such as myself, that a academic is one who twists and obscures the truth that is self evident so as to be liked and ensure themselves a cushy job. Or maybe that should only apply to the humanities department? The stupidity on display is sometimes too much to stomach. While there is no premium on ignorance, it appears that the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake is also dangerous, or is it simply the pursuit of acceptance into an elitist club of self-congratulating lemmings who could not think their way out of a paper bag?
